Forgive - Period
Mark 11:25-26
"And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him,
so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins."
Unforgiveness is down right dangerous! It will make your
spirit weak and your prayers ineffective. It will pull the plug on your faith so that
you will not have enough power to effectively live as a Christian.
Jesus didn't say try, or if you can, He simply said "FORGIVE" Period.
Jesus made forgiveness a command. He is not going to ask you to do something you
can't do. So you can be sure it's within your power to forgive--no matter how bad
you've been hurt.
Most people don't realize it, but unforgiveness is actually a form
of fear. Quite often we don't forgive because we are afraid of getting hurt again.
If you want to forgive, get rid of those fears. How? By filling your
mind and heart with God's promises that apply to your situation (Psalm 119:11).
If you can do that, I assure you, your feelings will change. It may
not happen overnight, but it will happen. And one of these days you will be able to
throw your arms around that person and say, "I love you, friend." What's more, you will
mean it from the bottom of your heart.
Then you can walk free and blessed again!
