How To Kill A Giant

1 Samuel 17:26
David asked the men standing near him, "What will be done for the man who kills this Philistine and removes this disgrace from Israel? Who is this uncircumcised Philistine that he should defy the armies of The Living God?"

How do you kill a giant? How do you handle a problem that's so big, you can't see beyond it - and so stubborn it just won't go away?

You stand on the covenant you have with Almighty God! That's how.

David called him an uncircumcised Philistine. Circumcision was the mark of the covenant between the Israelites and God. GOD'S UNBREAKABLE PROMISE! He knew that in Deuteronomy 28:7, God said, "They (your enemy) will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven."

David believed that promise. It didn't matter who the enemy was. David knew without a doubt that he would defeat them. If God be for you who can be against you. It changed the way he looked at things. That's why David could confidently say that Goliath is no problem, I can take him!

You too have a covenant with God. It's a covenant bought by the Blood of Jesus, and the Bible says it's a better covenant than even David had (Hebrews 8:6). So if you have a giant of a problem staring you in the face, and all you feel is defeat, you need to check your focus. Where have you been looking lately? Are you looking at the size of the problem--or are you looking at your covenant with God? We can't be double-minded and see both. You have to choose to be Promise Minded or problem minded, you choose!

When you focus ALL your attention on the Promise, everything changes.

So go ahead and kill that giant!
