The Seed of Seeds
John 3:16:
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
God not only loved, He so loved. God loved so much He gave
His best.
Jesus was the seed of seeds. The Word calls Jesus the seed
of the woman (Gen. 3:15), the seed of Abraham (Gal. 3:16), the seed of David (II Sam.
22:51), and the seed that God sowed for a purpose: that He might receive His lost
family back!
He gave out of His need, His want. His need was to get His
family back. There was only one way: plant His best seed, His only begotten Son. So
He sowed His seed. He sowed expecting a Harvest. And it began to happen and is
still happening.
Now since we understand the basis of His giving we can
understand the basis of our giving. So now we can apply this to our own need and
want.
We "so love" as God did, sow our best seed as He did and does,
sow our seed for a desired result, aim that seed as He aimed His Son, expect to receive
our Harvest of multiplied return, then you can't talk us out of our giving, of sowing our
best seed!
Luke 6:38; Give and it shall be given to you; good measure,
pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom.
For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
Think about it! You cannot do the impossible (receive the miracle)
without first seeing the invisible (planting the seed).
